A Human’s Guide to Freelance Living – FREE New Ebook!

A Human's Guide to Freelance LivingA Human’s Guide to Freelance Living is a short manifesto about staying sane, happy and productive as a freelancer.

It features tips on finding ideas, staying organized, getting clients and ultimately making money doing what you love.

A Human’s Guide to Freelance Living is simple. It was born out of my philosophy on freelancing which itself is simple:

  • Get clients
  • Do for them what they want and what you promise
  • Make money
  • Repeat if necessary

Of course, there’s a little more to it than that, but that’s what the book is for. It’s my day-to-day guide on making things happen as a freelancer. It’ll make you laugh. It’ll make you cry. It even has a few bad words in it, so it’s perfect for grandma.

Here’s what people are saying…

“This is probably the best book ever written. Ever.” – the author
“I hated it. Every single word.” – some jerk
“We haven’t read it. Maybe we’ll get around to it, but it’s doubtful.” – my parents

  10. Posted 10 December, 2007 at 10:04 pm

Aw…we don’t want to crash anything. Just thought that would be a good way to get the word out to quite a few freelancers at a time. At least I warned you ;)

Thank you! I really appreciate that. You know, I wrote that thing just out wandering over the course of a month or so. It was never intended for public consumption at all, but I was convinced by some friends to get it out there. I’m really glad I did, if for no other reason than to hear from people like yourself.

Happy new year! And thank you for taking the time to make my day better.

    Did someone really say this?–

“I hated it. Every single word.” – some jerk

    hahaha.

Hi Charlie, greetings from Downunder! What a ripper your ebook is, just finished it. I love the whole look (fonts, colours, set out) of it and all the fab content. It was DIFFERENT. I’ve got thousands of ebooks sitting in my bedroom and in my computer and none of them are like your Guide, it was fun, kick in the pants yet gentle ride to getting to know and enjoy yourself better or more often! Thanks for freely sharing yourself this way and it has given me stuff to think about, I especially loved ‘Stop Being Realistic’ (a must for all of us, considering all our realities are different) and the ‘Don’t Believe that Lie…’ First ebook off the rank in 2008 and loved it!
    Muchos thanks!
    Lise :^)

Greetings to you, too! And thank you so much for your comment. I’m so glad you liked the book and that you didn’t mind it being “different”. It was hard to write it, and harder to release it for public consumption, knowing how different it is.

There’s another project of mine coming up later this year, and comments like yours are really helping it take shape. I thank you!

    Hi Charlie,
loved your reply, thanks (you’re sitting on you ‘puter across the Pacific and me too, love that!). I like different, and it rings with what you’ve written in the ebook, be yourself and obviously you like to walk on the traintracks of life instead of inside of them, unlike most of the pack, great! Someone once said choose things with the guide of using beauty, friendship and peace. I add smile to that, so by the end of the book I was smiling and that means it tasted goodo! Here’s to your success in 2008!
    Hugs

Hey, dude, thanks a ton! Really glad you liked it and any spreading of the word will be greatly appreciated! You’ll certainly be rewarded with lots and lots of money and commission checks. I’m not saying they’ll come from me, I’m just betting you’ll get some.

People are always asking me what it takes to be a successful freelance writer. When the next person asks that question, I plan to point them to this book. It’s terrific!

    Hi, Charlie!
I was, I AM delighted by your book!
After 17 years of freelancing, that is all to be said and I have to say.
On the other hand, meeting various kind of people, I realise that there will be soooooo many different oppinions on this book…
Some will want a larger, more detailed one; some, a huge edition. But from my perspective, I guess that your book is like something you would like to take with you, if you land on a deserted island, in the middle of nowhere, like Robinson Crusoe.
For all your visitors, from a freelancer, a 10 out of 10 rating!
    Happy to meet you,
    Serban S.

It constantly amazes me just how web owners like yourself can find the time and also the commitment to carry on producing outstanding content. The Human’s Guide is wonderful and one of my personal must reads. I’ve been more than amazed with the blog posts and free guide on Ignite Living. I just want to say thanks and well done. Kind regards.
